Someone cares to explain why the Join or Die edition didn't make it to the stores today or possibly ever?

Uma pessoa planeia tudo de maneira a conseguir ir à loja e comprar um jogo, para depois não terem a edição que quero mas têm a outra mais cara, pois... não que me importasse muito de ter a figura e bandeira mas importo-me não é a Join or Die!

De qualquer maneira, a tentativa de encomenda aos fornecedores está feita... A contagem decrescente para duas semanas já começou. É bom que o sms tenha uma resposta positiva.

No meio da enorme quantidade de informação mRNA, proto-oncogenes, vias de sinalização, cascatas de proteínas, análise de artigos que não me dizem nada de novo, loops e motifs, ligação de nucleótidos, tradução, código genético, do tempo perdido nisto em que podia estar a preparar-me para uma apresentação ou não e da falta de especificidade das perguntas, em geral, o que mais me chateia ainda é o facto de a timina não ter sido substituída por uracilo no mRNA...

As I know that the blog is followed by people of different countries, I feel that this should be written in English - since it's known as the universal language.

In the light of some pretty recent events, brought to my attention this morning thanks to a friend, I can't help but be really disappointed and angered with people that I believed being better than they actually are...

I've always seen art as self-expression. A way for the artist, no matter of what kind, to express the world as he/she saw it. What and how he/she expressed it was totally unique for each artist. Since when did art stopped to meant this? Since when was mandatory for the artist to express another's world?

Unfortunately, it's not uncommon to come across fanart/cosplay bashing because of either white-washing or black-facing. Seriously, what is wrong with you people? Why is it so important that whoever is portraying a character doesn't have the exact colour as the character you think you're defending?
I've seen a lot of fanart with dark-skin characters accused of white-washing the character, then again I see other fanart of the same characters with lighter tone of skin but it's always "Wonderful" and "Amazing", many times because they're from a more famous person...
However, this doesn't mean that famous artists are safe from this hatred. No! Even when they post official art, that isn't enough to satisfy people. Even the choice of make-up chosen by cosplayers is a target to this hate... When lighter-skinned people think they should use a heavier make-up to cosplay a character with darker complexion, it's instantaneously black-facing, facing accusations of being offensive and racist! I'm pretty sure if they didn't used the hatred would still be there. Sometimes I wonder if they're not the racist ones...

In my opinion, each cosplayer picks the best that fits the character and don't choose a lighter or darker colour to offend. It's a matter of artistic choice... Let me re-phrase it: it's a matter of choice! You're free to disagree and express your opinion but you don't have to disrespect or threaten people in the process.
Now, when these haters choose to, after accusing a cosplayer that he was black-facing a character, say the same to a partner who has a natural dark skin, it's just... Awful. All of you, who claimed them to be insensitive, told a person that she was too dark! Do you feel happy and accomplished now? According to some comments, you do because "at least they'll stop?". Congratulations: they removed their art and even apologized to whomever felt offended. They were more graceful than it was expected of this situation... I'm not sure if I'd do the same, considering I felt like I haven't done anything wrong I should apologize for.

Writing things behind a PC screen is easier than facing people and tell things to their face - I get that, I do it all the time but I never used it to attack anyone personally (unless this classifies as an attack, then I probably did it sometimes while clearing my head of this) just because it doesn't bring any direct consequences. Whenever I see situations like this, not to mention when there are wishes for suicide involved, I can't help but to feel enraged.

What still surprised me this time, after reading about situations like this one so many times before, was that it came from people who, I thought, understood the meaning and importance of having an open mind, but all I got from it was that they completely disregarded the concept.
If they didn't agree with what was being done, all they had to do was expose their opinion instead of imposing it. What is done is done, and it can't be taken back...

My only wish was that people thought about the difference in forcing someone to accept your points of view, or voicing it. We're all human beings, and all different from one another... We can't forget that behind each screen there's always another human being. As anyone who wishes to be respected, we have to learn earning that respect.

TOUCH

Whenever I see images like this I always wonder how one touch can convey so many feelings...

Different for everyone, I'm sure.

As I go throughout the images, I see reunion, safeness, closeness, and trust.

A somewhat bittersweet emotion that can bring a sad smile to my face.

However, I can't help but look at them from another point of view.

To me, these images are way more powerful when you look at them from below to the top.

I see the courage and strength to let go, the hope that they'll be be together again, and the unavoidable sadness that comes when the contact is broken.

Lembras-te de quando nos conhecemos? Das poucas coisas que recordo da minha infância, esse momento espero nunca me esquecer... Tão diferentes, mas tão iguais. Olha para nós, agora!

Enquanto éramos inseparáveis, nunca poderia imaginar isto... Mas com os anos fomos mudando.
Cada etapa final na nossa vida servia para me lembrar o quão próxima estava de ti. Nessa altura, sorria.
No entanto, cada fim implicava um novo início... Por sua vez, este sempre implicou um aumento de distância entre nós. Primeiro era só umas salas que nos separavam, depois uns edifícios faziam que encontrar-te implicasse um pequeno passeio até ao lado oposto de onde estava, a seguir vieram as cidades de distância que implicaram uma enorme redução do nosso tempo em conjunto... As vezes que nos víamos tornaram-se cada vez mais escassas.
Agora mais distância se interpõe: diferentes países. Não é para sempre, eu sei... Mas não consigo deixar de sentir que, desta vez, a distância vai ser não só física, mas sim emocional. Não me sai da cabeça que nunca mais vamos conseguir diminuir esta.

Quando nos encontramos somos pessoas tão diferentes do que da última vez que nos vimos. O que tínhamos há uns anos... Pergunto-me o que lhe aconteceu! Penso se seremos pessoas estranhas que insistem numa amizade que há muito enferrujou, apenas por respeito ao que foi, sem saber o que agora é... Valerá a pena?

Quando comprei o primeiro livro de Oliver Bowden sobre este jogo nunca pensei ficar tão aficcionada ao ponto de comprar o resto da série.
Há alguns dias, encontrei finalmente o único jogo para a PSP que já passei uma data de vezes e soube que poderá haver um filme *yay*, provavelmente do primeiro, com a história do Altaïr...
Para melhorar tudo Michael Fassbender poderá ser o protagonista neste filme. *u*

Acho que vou ter de esperar que o filme saia...

Sepultura e os Tambours du Bronx foram uma entrada em grande. Não os conhecia, mas gostei muito!
Evanescence: um sonho tornado realidade... Ver a minha banda preferida ao vivo, foi do melhor! Espero voltar a vê-los num concerto só deles, para poder aproveitar mais músicas (e que não voltem a demorar 8 anos a aparecer por cá)!
Metallica: Um espectáculo em grande! Tudo ao rubro com eles... Não consigo imaginar como poderiam ter finalizado de uma maneira melhor: foi mesmo fantástico!

Tenho de pedir desculpa aos Mastodon, por não ter lá ficado a ouvir, mas aproveitei para ver o resto do recinto.  :)

  Wooo! Tricky one. Sobremesa do tipo "qualquer-tipo-de-comida-que-se-come-depois-de-uma-refeição" ou "comida-super-calórica-nada-saudável"?

A do primeiro tipo, e preferida acima de tudo, maçã! Nada tão simples e tão saboroso como maçã.

A do segundo tipo é mais difícil... "Doce d'Avó" (tenho a certeza que este não é o nome correcto, mas é assim que eu o conheço) ou salame de chocolate. Não sei se consigo escolher, mas talvez vá para o doce, visto que o outro é mais comum.

    Injustiça. Que duvidem de mim. Que me desorganizem as coisas.

    Um cão! Sem dúvida. Mas não tenho nenhum, infelizmente.

     Quando não me controlo o suficiente e alguém que não tem culpa sai magoado.

To all the Sherlockians around there, you certainly know that season 2 has already aired on 01.JAN.12 (in U.K. at least, hence it's available online *muahahah*)... I think next episode will air day 08 great just great... on an exam's eve and the final episode whyyyyyy??? *buahh* on January the 15th seriously? another evaluation's eve? damn you! all of you planned this!.
Brace yourselves for what's to come... If they leave Sherlock "dead" for the Great Hiatus I really have to find one of those black armbands to use...

I'm more into the guys on the left but I also enjoy the ones on the right (though I don't follow the show 100% more like 30%... or less... shame on me from what I saw, 10th rulled. I'm not very keen on the 11th. Yet, at least...). Anyway, I completely agree with this image which belongs to zoo-ette.
